Art education for little ones
Lei’s Studio is introducing their first summer art camp for young children. Aimed to promote and encourage children’s creativity and interest in art, the summer class will have weekly projects that expose them to different artists and different ways to create. Kids will learn a variety of techniques and mediums to tell their own story, including acrylic paint, clay, oil pastel and many more. By teaching them different ways of creative expression, we believe art is a tool that can strengthen kids’ ability to solve problems and innovate new ideas. If you have any questions, please scroll down and contact us below. We would love to hear from you!
Class Structure
Students ages 5-9 are welcome to Lei’s Summer Art Camp. Each week students will learn about and focus on a master artist and their artwork. Using the artist as a guide, students will create their own versions of the masterpieces. Classes are 3 hours long, from 9am to noon daily, and will remain small to ensure each child has adequate attention and help in guidance. The weekly tuition is $275 per student plus a materials fee of $25.
About the Teachers
Julie Kim
Julie is a Bay Area native and grew up with a love for design. That passion led her to studying Women’s Wear Fashion Design at Parsons School of Design in New York where she graduated with prestigious internships at Carla Westcott and Catherine Malandrino. She later worked as a designer at Black Label in Korea before moving back to the Bay Area to start her family. Julie has taught art and created part of the art curriculum at Easterbrook Discovery for TK, K, and 1st grade. She is thrilled to pass on the love of art and design to the next generation and hopes to inspire children to explore and play through creative outlets.
Tina Lei
Growing up under her dad’s mentorship, Tina followed her father’s footsteps and pursued a creative career. After graduating from Art Center College of Design, she began her career at Disney Publishing and eventually made her way back in the Bay Area at Zynga and Uber. Her career has taken her to an art director role at Meta where she oversaw augmented reality design production across the Facebook platform. With over a decade of professional experience spanning multiple industries, she is excited to teach kids how to foster and nurture their own creativity.
